My Life So Far…Week 3

  • Sermon: “My Life So Far…Week 3: As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
  • Speaker: Aaron Fudge
  • Date: 07-22-12
  • Summary: During the rainy season, your lawn looks brilliant; it’s green and full and lush. You revel in its beauty and you show it off to your neighbors. But, during the summer, when the sun is blistering and your sprinklers are broken, the grass is dry and brittle.

So what do you do? Do you rip up the lawn and replace it with new grass? No, you are committed to your lawn. You fix your sprinklers, fertilize, and wait patiently for the rain to come again, but you remain committed.

Our culture shuns commitment and urges quick upgrades—out with the old and in with the new—but as Jesus people, we are to stand committed, even during the long, drawn-out dry seasons.

Flipside has changed my life and my family. I have been looking for a welcoming church for many years as I grew up with a similar church. Kevin is amazing and very inspiring!!! I feel like each sermon is speaking to me directly. He makes the Bible so easy to understand and his humor makes it even more enjoyable. Everything we learn can be applied to our daily lives; easy goals to be a good christian that are obtainable. I was surprised at how friendly everyone is too. I felt like I belonged on the first day I attended. The atmosphere is casual and non judgmental (all are welcome). I love the activities for the children. Sundays and all the other extracurricular activities have great lessons while the kids are still having fun. I also enjoy the music. It is great to go to church and be able to sing songs I listen to on Christian music stations. It's great to worship through music; that just brings you to life. Flipside has something for everyone and I highly recommend it to everyone.
