FAQ’s

Why do you call your church The Flipside?
When The Flipside started, it was just a college group. As it began to blossom into a whole new church, it became clear that it needed a name. Something radical. Something that captured the heart of this unique community of believers. As Kevin Reynolds, the lead pastor, reflected on Acts 17:6 (in the NKJ version), he really identified with how Paul and the other early disciples were described. As turning the world “upside-down.” So, the name Flipside was born. And since then, the heart of this community has been and will continue to be turning the world upside-down for Jesus Christ, one life at a time.
What is the origin of The Flipside?
The Flipside began as a college ministry in 1998 at Community Baptist Church in Alta Loma (CBC). As a small group with intentional vision, it transitioned into a Sunday gathering which met in the evenings. This gathering birthed a second gathering and eventually The Flipside was commissioned by CBC’s lead pastor (Rob Acker) to become a church plant in Rancho Cucamonga under the leadership of Kevin Reynolds. As a church plant, The Flipside began meeting at Alta Loma High School. It continued to meet there for three years as a set up and tear down church. In 2003, The Flipside moved to the warehouse on Jersey Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga. With God’s grace, and much sweat and tears this warehouse was transformed into a sanctuary through which all of the current ministries serve the local communities in the Inland Empire and strategic relationships across the globe.
What can I expect at The Flipside?
We currently gather at 9:15 and 11:00AM. The Flipside meets in a converted warehouse that is as warm and inviting as the community that meets there. There are no distinctions in the worship time and message at the two gatherings. However, various worship teams have been known to lead on any given Sunday. We are blessed with many talented artists and musicians. The lighting in the sanctuary during this time is ambient and allows for the people to focus on their personal time with God. The cross is placed in multiple locations within the sanctuary and communion is often made available throughout the sanctuary as well.
The message follows the New International Version (NIV) translation of Scripture and if you do not happen to own a Bible, we will make one available for you to keep. The message is usually multi-sensory (making use of power point and other visual aids, tactile learning, personal response time, etc.) and allows for various ways to engage with the teaching. A Teaching Resource Team (TRT) will create questions that follow the message for more in-depth discussions and application during our mid-week Growth Groups.
What is available for my children?
There is full-children’s curriculum available at both the 9:15am and 11:00am gatherings. Our rooms are divided into the following categories: Nursery (birth), Toddlers (walking), Pre-K (potty trained), and Grades (with age appropriate breakouts). The curriculum and activities are appropriate for each room. Fuel Cards are provided in the Grades rooms so that the children may reinforce at home what they have learned on Sundays.
How can I serve at The Flipside?

How can I get to know more people at The Flipside?
Growth Groups are always a great place to form more meaningful relationships since you get to see a small group of people on a regular basis. We also offer “Lunch Date” which is great for finding new faces and discovering new and exciting ways to serve and get more involved.
How can I make a donation to The Flipside?
Besides putting a contribution in the globes at a Sunday gathering, you can mail donations or use your bank to do online bill pay to 10912 Jersey Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, 91730 attn: Offering, or you can click here to give securely via PayPal using your debit card or bank account.
Do you perform Child Baptisms / Dedications?
So while we do not do infant baptisms, we do perform baby dedications.
Baby Dedication at The Flipside is a public act of the parents, where they express their conviction that their child belongs to God and their commitment to raise their children in a way that honors God. This act of baby dedication does not produce salvation in a child, but is a public expression of dedication by the parents.
Then as older kids make a personal decision of faith they are able to go through a baptism class that we have designed for them. This allows them and their parents to decide together if this is the right time to get baptized or not.
